To safeguard user data privacy during mobile design user testing, obtain informed consent explaining data collection purposes, usage, and storage. Anonymize and pseudonymize data, remove personal identifiers, and use secure storage solutions compliant with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA. Limit data collection to relevant information and establish retention policies for timely deletion. Ensure participant confidentiality through non-disclosure agreements if necessary. Utilize secure testing tools with robust data protection measures. Transparency, accountability, and regulatory compliance ensure users' trust and safeguard their privacy.

If a team is serious about safeguarding test data, then regardless of "mobile testing", researchers would go through PII security training and be familiar with the standards of other organizations such as finance, medicine and journalism. Lastly there should be legal counsel attached to assist with drawing up consent forms, privacy use statements and NDA contracts. Research Ops must have some relationship with Legal to ensure everything is on the up and up. After all that, the Research teams needs to create a physical and digital barrier that secures Records Management. A physical barrier allows the approved ResOps teams to speak freely and the digital barrier adds permissions requirements to access documents. Delete PII afterwards.
