Actually the pivot table is one of the fantastic tools excel has. It makes life easy when it comes to summarizing a large data set. Besides that it is very easy to set up just by a few clicks and you may add a pivot table. Once you finalize a pivot table with required headings, columns and values. You only need to add the new data to the source and update the pivot table to get the latest numbers. It is also a user friendly and flexible tool which can be used to prepare clean and informative financial reports.

In my opinion, for financial reports, it is very crucial that you master Excel or Google Sheets formulas. There’re functions like SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, and financial functions like PMT, NPV that help you automate calculations.
