Dans certains cas (équipes délocalisés, offshore, ...) la communication pour débattre du périmètre de tests de régression peut être compliqué. En cas de débat houleux, la communication synchrone doit être privilégiée (appel, meeting, ...). Il est important de cerner les points de vue de chaque équipe, identifier des points communs et reconnaitre les sources de divergences. Les techniques de carte mentale ou de brainstorming peuvent être ici particulièrement efficace. Enfin, dans le cas où l'équipe travaille sur un modèle agile, la boucle de feedback (rétrospective) est un excellent moyen d'améliorer la communication.
