Normalmente comenzaría con reuniones separadas con ambos equipos para conocer los requerimientos de uno y otro y poder preparar una estrategia que ambos puedan tomar como viable. Luego de plantear estas estrategias y conocer la reacción de cada grupo por separado recién implementaría reuniones conjuntas a los efectos de definir los detalles de su implementación.

Sin dudas una parte importante de la mediación es hacer llegar a cada uno de los equipos las limitaciones y exigencias que tiene el otro equipo en forma clara y concisa, para así permitir entender que es posible negociar y cuales son los límites externos impuestos sobre cada uno.

Todo mediador debe tratar de proponer ajustes en las tareas de ambos equipos a fin de lograr un balance entre recursos disponibles, recursos posibles y requerimientos de servicio a los usuarios. No siempre el mejor servicio se logra de la misma forma, las alternativas que puedan aportar de cada equipo pueden facilitar enormemente el trabajo del otro.
