You're analyzing survey data and noticing discrepancies. How can you align it with actual statistical trends?
When survey data doesn't match up with expected statistics, it's crucial to recalibrate your approach. To realign your data:
- Re-examine the sampling method. Ensure it's representative and random to avoid bias.
- Check for errors in data entry or calculation that could skew results.
- Compare against external benchmarks or similar studies for validation or context.

Below are some strategies to ensure that the survey data reflect the true trend: 1. Check the sampling design( Make sure that the sample is representative etc..) 2. Cleaning the data and validation : Before any analyzing, make sure that the outliers are removed , check the data entry errors etc.. 3. Improve the survey design: check the survey questions to reduce the ambiguity 4.Trend analysis: Compare your survey data with the past surveys and analyze the changes Above is my contribution to the question of how to ensure that the survey data reflect true trend.
