The change I presume is a result of feedback obtained from users or bottlenecks observed using product analytic tools. Goal of the enhancement should be defined. As the change is termed as “innovative” / “revolutionary” one can perform an extensive pilot program with select target users or early adopters to gain insights. While the gap analysed needs to be addressed, it is important to assess if other core features that were initially working continue to.

I once worked on a product redesign where everyone wanted it to look like the next iPhone. But I reminded the team: form and function matter.
