One of the things I love most about coaching is how clients will share the most powerful metaphors to describe their experience. By really listening to what clients are telling you and the language they are using (not just with their words either, but with their body language, their eyes, their pace and delivery), you can create masterful change for them. I had a client recently describe her experience like being in a glass chamber. Prodding her to explain what she meant, she said she didn't feel heard or seen. Using her metaphor, we were able to talk about how she could find her way out of that glass chamber.

Depends in which capacity you wish to excel....excel commercially...then be great at networking and marketing. Excel at your craft....strive to gain wisdom whilst valuing ignorance. A tricky paradox.

Read between the lines. Ask insightful questions that help leaders figure things out for themselves. Being patient and supportive as real growth takes time and your job is to guide, not rush them.
