What a great question! Here are two frameworks for giving feedback that I love and use. 1. I like...I wish...I wonder... This framework invites you to share what you: - like about the things a person is doing. - wish the person would consider - a constructive action you wonder if the person could try out next time. It is affirmative, positive, and constructive. 2. COINS C - share the context O - share the behavior/s you have observed I - share the impact the behavior,s have had on you N - suggest the next step moving forward S - stay!!! The first framework ends with a question, which opens up opportunities for change, while the second framework reminds you to stay and collaborate.

Use the head, heart, body approach. Early on - just look at the idea and concept. Halfway - look at structure and systems. Only at the end - the minutiae. That way, you’re engaging on the right elements to foster positive ideation which springboards the right type of innovation, ideation and creativity

To foster creativity, I focus on turning feedback into a constructive tool by encouraging open dialogue and viewing criticism as an opportunity for growth. By highlighting areas for improvement in a positive light, I inspire my team to experiment and innovate freely.

In my experience working on team projects, live projects, and in various clubs and committees, I’ve learned that feedback can be a powerful tool for innovation if used constructively. I transformed feedback into a creative driver by encouraging an open, non-judgmental atmosphere where feedback was seen as a path to improvement, not criticism. I emphasized specific, actionable suggestions and created space for team discussions to refine ideas together. We set up feedback loops after each phase, allowing us to adjust and explore new approaches. This built a culture where feedback wasn’t just a critique, but a spark for fresh, innovative thinking.

"Houston, we have a problem!"
