When facing with a system failure and the team shows signs of panic, you need to decisively pause the troubleshooting process and organize a short meeting to reduce stress among team members, as well as summarize the issues the system is facing. Provide an update on the system recovery progress, and if there are any obstacles, bring them up for the team to discuss and find solutions together. Motivating the team to stay calm is just as important as recovering the system. Since the recovery is carried out by people, maintaining stable mental states helps minimize mistakes during the recovery process.

I faced couple times such incidents in my career. Immediately, I called emergency meeting with the full tech team. Main discussion points were like backup and restore plan, who would carry out which activity, and estimated restoration time. Normally, I tried to listen more from people who directly involved with the system about how to minimize the restoration time. My management and clients are aligned about the incident and restoration time. Enough foods are ensured for the team. Team is shielded from management or clients' calls. So that they could only focus on restoration and business continuity process. It helped to keep team calm and focused.

If there is a blame game, no solution will be found. System development requires experienced team leaders. The team will work with own experience and follow chain of command. The respective team leader will find out the problem. Then solution should be found later. Definitely a sustainable solution. The database administrator is responsible if there is any problem in the database. All areas of system design and development require an experienced DBA.
