In my experience, the first thing people need to understand after restructures is the WHY and the vision for the future. Help them see where we are going as a team, what their role is in that, and how our team plays a key role in making it a success. I always like to link what we are responsible for to our values. Change can be difficult, but if people understand that we are remaining true to our values, they can usually get on board, and trust you to lead.

Start by being transparent about the changes and their impacts. Hold one-on-one conversations to listen to their concerns and feelings. Share your vision for the future and invite team members to contribute ideas. Regularly acknowledge their efforts and progress. Trust rebuilds when people feel heard and involved in shaping the path forward.
