We implemented OKRs nearly a year ago. I’ve found them a really useful tool though by no means perfect. However, the cycle of reviewing, scoring and creating new OKRs is time consuming and requires a fair bit of administrative support.

First question always is where is the problem? Is it the team or is it the targets? Crazy timelines and unattainable goals just create anxiety. The team must be skilled to be able to address reasonable goals. Attribution error is blaming individuals for system faults but if everyone would fail in the same scenario then the problem is not the team, not the goals, but the system/framework that does not allow success.

Often times we all have our head down with laser focus, however taking a step back to understand the ‘local why’ as well as the ‘global why’ and ensure alignment often enhances enlightenment.
