If you are a manager and your team is struggling to communicate effectively, then a likely problem is that you are not communicating your expectations to them effectively. Everyone has their own personal connection style and makes their own assumptions about how to be effective and efficient. If those don't align with your expectations, then it's incumbent on you to communicate what you want. At the same time, don't micromanage a team of people who you presumably hired for their skills and judgment. But give them enough structure and process to avoid anarchy, especially when it comes to communication.

Establishing clear and consistent communication rules within your team constitutes the second step in fostering effective collaboration. These guidelines should encompass aspects such as communication frequency, format, tone, purpose, and feedback mechanisms.
