Your team struggles to grasp the value of ERP software. How can you make them see its importance?
When your team is hesitant about the value of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, education and demonstration are key. To showcase its importance:
- Highlight efficiency gains by comparing processes pre- and post-ERP implementation.
- Share success stories from other companies to illustrate tangible benefits.
- Arrange hands-on training sessions to demystify the software and build confidence.
How have you successfully communicated the value of ERP software to your team?

To help your team grasp the value of ERP software, start by highlighting its benefits through real-life examples that resonate with their daily tasks. Conduct engaging training sessions that demonstrate how ERP can streamline processes, reduce manual errors, and improve data visibility across departments. Encourage team members to share their pain points and discuss how ERP solutions can address these challenges. Organize interactive workshops where employees can explore the software hands-on, allowing them to experience its capabilities firsthand. Additionally, share success stories from other organizations that have transformed their operations through ERP, reinforcing its importance as a vital tool for enhancing productivity.

Over my working career into product, there's one thing that I have learnt from my mentors and further encourage my teammates to learn is the USP of your product. Once you get to know why your product / ERP is unique then you will get to know the real value and will be able to understand your target audience. When you get to know the product's USP then you are keen to know more about the product and you end up getting to know the product on a deeper level. At this stage, the co-ordination with your tech team plays an important role to stay up to date on the product end. Lastly, all the above points makes sense if you have these 3C's in your team- Committed, Cooperative, and Creative. Hope this helps. Do let me know if I missed any point.

start by demonstrating how it streamlines processes, reduces manual tasks, and improves accuracy across departments. Share real-life examples showing time and cost savings, enhanced decision-making through data visibility, and improved collaboration. Conduct workshops or hands-on training to show practical applications that align with their roles. Highlight success stories within the organization or from industry peers. Emphasize how ERP enables scalability, competitiveness, and future growth, making it clear that mastering the system enhances both individual efficiency and overall business success.

To help your team see the value of ERP software, share relatable success stories. For example, explain how a similar company improved efficiency and reduced errors by using ERP to streamline their processes. Organize hands-on workshops where team members can explore the software’s features in real-time. Showcase how it can simplify their daily tasks, like automating reports or improving inventory management. By connecting ERP benefits to their everyday work, you’ll foster a better understanding and appreciation for the system.

I would start by asking the team the pain points or the issues they currently face in the current scenario (without the ERP) and then show them how ERP will be able to help them with those pain points.
