As a civil structural engineer working within a team of highly qualified professionals, I would say that in the modern times where the technological advancements are happening every single day and with every single day, there are new software evolving as well for all the respective engineering disciplines, so i would suggest that every engineer should have the capability to learn new engineering software as per the project needs because at the end of the day, we all need the same results, it depends on the software seller companies who perform the best but Yes, being in era of technological advancements, we should be sound and intelligent enough to grasp the basics of the new software in no time and with very minimal supervision

As a team leader always I will try first thing to find out the reason behind the resisting the change. If found some logical or proper reason behind it, I will try to resolve it from my end, and give proper solution or adoption method for it. Secondly i will try to explain benefits of using the new software, how it will help them to increase their efficiency. And I will also perform some workflow on ongoing project and show to the colleagues. By this way I will try to adopt new software with my team.

We as humans doesn’t like the thing that we does not know about it, because it looks like a difficult for us. So the first thing to introduce the new software to the team then make an open discussion session to discuss the transformation to that and present the benefits, also create a training plan for the team and after that discuss it with the individuals.
