Another way to get people going is to make your silence loud. How to do that? Introduce an effective break without words. I sometimes used the help of the sound of a flowing stream of water. You can do such an exercise for say 3-4 minutes. The sound of the flowing water quietens the minds of your team members. They can close their eyes during the exercise. After the session ask them how they experienced it and relate to their experiences.

Differences in opinions are the foundation for some of today's most expansive solutions and, thus, should never be shunned. However, all must be prepared to share solid rationale for said opinions, and if there is still no consensus, then it is time to dig deeper—something is still missing. In my experience, when a team is ready to write their creative strategy, it should be fueled by knowledge so comprehensive that the words almost write themselves.
