I don't agree to this point to find the best training provider as finding the best will be next to impossible. Focus on how many successful people have done the course from this provider and if there are any genuine reviews and if you can contact them through Linkedln to check whether they are good or not. I would also like to insist that even though you are with the best trainer if the learner is not interested in learning or you forced them to learn a particular course, either way they will not be happy and achieve nothing

It’s not just about training, but also about the employee’s interest, course structure, instructor onboard and the courses alignment with the overall project work. At one of my previous organisations, i saw how well these things were done in meetings where stakeholders from vendor side, HR side, project side and L&D side used to get together to discuss the need, flow and the outcomes of the training. This not only helps deliver quality training but also allows employees to enjoy the knowledge gain.

As a leader one of your skills would be on how you build your team. Understand your team well and know where there focus areas are so that you could tailor your approach for everyone. Assist them with courses and training sessions to upgrade / develop the skills and assign them tasks to use those skills to action. Regularly follow up on how their training is going and have interactive sessions. COMMUNICATE, that’s the best way to first sell the idea of upgrading / developing skills, its important when you have people who don’t embrace change. Have one on ones and group sessions helping them to participate and share insights of what they are learning. Share feedback and give opportunity. Embrace failure and celebrate wins.
