-
PROVIDE SUPPORT AND ADJUST WORKLOADS When a team member is struggling with personal issues, start by offering understanding and support. Create a space where they feel comfortable sharing their challenges, and let them know you're there to help without judgment. This shows compassion and strengthens their connection to the team. At the same time, adjust workloads to ensure the team’s overall needs are met. Redistribute tasks or provide additional resources to balance the workload and maintain momentum. By being flexible and supporting the individual while managing team priorities, you ensure the team remains productive without overburdening anyone.

Our workplace is our extended family as we spend most of out time with them. Whenever there is a problem in the family we are ready to go extra miles to ensure they are getting required support. I believe in this concept and whenever my team comes to me with any challenges they are facing in their personal life, I always try to be in their shoe. I will understand the problem and see what best solution can be found together. If this requires time off, flexibility, counselling, other support we extend these supports to them. I will communicate with other team members and ensure the targets are not impacted at the same time we are able to provide support to the team member.
-
One thing I have found helpful in such situation is to have a conversation with the team member and understand their personal issue and then suggest alternative like time off, adjusting work load or work hours etc which made planning day to day work load easily as well and reallocate as well accordingly.
-
Provide an open ear. Get some food in them. Go for a walk ??♀? . I think we owe it to everyone we work with to be compassionate and discreet. The work will still be there when you get back to your desk. Create a team and a plan around the person who’s feeling the heat - parcel out the tasks until they come bouncing back.
-
To effectively meet the team's needs despite a member's personal challenges will maintain open communication and delegate tasks based on strengths, offer flexibility, prioritize key objectives, and provide support while fostering collaboration and morale, I will ensure that the the team stays focused and productive without overwhelming the individual while keeping a close eye on overall progress and addressing issues as they arise.
