I address missed deadlines through empathetic conversations to identify root causes, such as workload, personal challenges, or unclear expectations. We then reassess tasks, establish realistic timelines, and break work into smaller milestones. I provide support, like mentoring or resource reallocation, and emphasize their strengths to boost confidence. Regular check-ins track progress, ensuring accountability while motivating them with encouragement and achievable goals.

When a team member consistently misses deadlines, I address the issue with empathy and clarity. I start by scheduling a private one-on-one meeting to discuss their performance in a supportive environment. I ask about the challenges they face and actively listen to their concerns. Next, I guide them in prioritizing tasks and setting realistic timelines, emphasizing the need for accountability in meeting deadlines. We create a clear action plan that outlines their responsibilities. While I’m here to support their success, I make it clear that it’s their responsibility to manage their workload effectively. By acknowledging their efforts and celebrating improvements, I aim to maintain their motivation and encourage personal growth.
