Food safety is an issue where there are no shortcuts, and there is no ambiguity as to what needs to happen. This is a scenario where the obvious amount of training, coaching and counselling is needed, giving the staff ample opportunity to learn a very important piece of operations. However, when it comes to the safety of our guests, a level of progressive discipline needs to take place when employees are putting patrons at risk. When it is a guest safety issue, there can be no shortcuts, and no errors in execution of policy.
