Skeptical team members can be a challenge during virtual team-building exercises. Start by emphasising the benefits of building relationships & fostering collaboration, even remotely, which can lead to increased productivity and innovation. Next, tailor the activities to their interests and needs. If they're focused on results, highlight how these exercises can enhance problem-solving and decision-making. Offer opportunities for them to contribute their expertise and see the tangible outcomes of teamwork. Finally, be patient and persistent. Demonstrate the positive impact of these activities over time, and you'll win them over. Celebrate successes & acknowledge their contributions to build trust and enthusiasm.

If the disruption is very important & adding value in the session, as a trainer i will welcome it. But if the disruption is unnecessary or not adding any value, i have a rule of 3 chances. I give 3 chances. The fourth time, i gently tap them to be assertive & fifth time, i will either ignore them completely or ask them to leave the session politely. According to me, more than the designation the person holds, it is about the significance of the position that we hold ourselves as a trainer. As trainers, for us everyone is the same. No disparity or difference between participants.
