I know 5 steps down the line is a stone but 25 steps down the line is a bulldozer, I can run very fast and avoid short term stone but will get crushed by bulldozer, one who knows long term run slowly and wins. In essence more you anticipate long term problems you can plan better today, long term doesn't necessarily mean a year down the line, it is a month or two
