El desarrollo de productos innovadores conlleva un alto riesgo de falla pues no se posee historia del desempe?o real del producto en pruebas de campo, aunque sí se pueden tomar en cuenta datos de productos similares en entornos de desempe?o parecidos. El proceso de desarrollo automotriz requiere el análisis de fallas DFMEA para evaluar la severidad del impacto de la falla, la ocurrencia de la causa de la falla y la capacidad de detección de la falla / causa. En el caso de nuevos desarrollo la probabilidad de que se presente la causa es muy elevada (no hay datos de soporte) y se reduce en la medida que se agregan controles de prevención.

During initial needs assessment, SWOT analysis helps in identifying high level risks. Further,detailed risk analysis quantitatively, qualitatively helps in risk management. It also helps to manage budget and schedule. For example, if you expect high number of unknown risks while introducing this new technology, you need to plan higher contingency reserves. Which may further call for stretching your budget and schedule.

A well prepared plan with well prepared team -means half the battle is won. For introducing new technology, well trained team should available. They should be encouraged to upskill themselves as and when technology upgrades.If required, special budget must be available for training the staff to adopt to new technology. Post introduction of technology, team must be available to handle any bugs,field failures etc.
