I think ignoring notification can be contextualised. Not everyone should have all neither none one shouldn’t' have none. Based on rolese or context notification can be handled. I think - All notification should be segmented to must and nice to have, nice to have may be muted permanently or to a duration. - Build workplace wide awareness to avoid broadcast approach and practice notify only concerned personal approach. - During pressing hours, mute team members notifications and keep everyone update through only few designated personal may help, but have to keep in mind thats applicable to fixed duration only. - trying to limit number of active notification sources.
-
To help your team manage the flood of messaging notifications, establish clear communication guidelines and prioritize channels based on urgency. Encourage the use of dedicated platforms for specific types of messages—such as project updates or casual conversations—to minimize distractions. Introduce "focus hours" where notifications are paused, allowing team members to concentrate on deep work without interruptions. Regularly assess and streamline notification settings to reduce noise, and foster a culture where important information is shared concisely and only when necessary. This balance helps the team stay productive and less overwhelmed.

Reducing or eliminating notifications for less important channels may make you feel like you’re missing out on too much at first, but give it time. You’ll likely find that you’re missing less than you expected, and your stress over it will ease.
