First we have to quickly check the blast radius. How many services or APIs are impacted. Based on this result quickly drill down to the common touch point of all the impacts units. It can start from customer side client, DNS server, load balancer, application server, actual machines, caching layer, code itself, database connection layer or database server itself. When we are running in peak time then its very important to quickly drill down to the infrastructure component which is creating problem.
