I usually begin with the data and research about best practices for my subject (English). I also explain practical reasons for my approach--real world application, transferrable skills for higher education or the workforce. I also explain the relationship that I have with my students and the importance to meet their needs emotionally or their learning style along with the topic/subject I teach. For me it is important that students understand the topics that we read and how it relates to their life outside of school. And I always tell them that this is a safe space for us to discuss these topics.

Provide data showing the benefits of inclusion, such as improved student outcomes and social skills. Offer successful examples and emphasize the importance of professional development for staff. Collaboratively address potential challenges, like resource allocation, while highlighting legal obligations and ethical responsibilities. Present a long-term vision that aligns with the school’s goals, and offer ongoing support and resources to ensure teachers and students can thrive in an inclusive environment.

To address concerns about your inclusive education practices effectively, focus on providing evidence, sharing experiences, and inviting collaboration. Present research-backed data: Use studies and statistics to demonstrate the benefits of inclusive education for student growth and engagement. Share classroom success stories: Highlight specific examples where your inclusive methods have positively impacted student outcomes. Propose a collaborative discussion: Suggest a meeting to discuss concerns openly and explore strategies to improve inclusivity together.

Questioning is a form of verification that generally happens when there is a gap. Hence it's important to patiently brief them about how you are making a difference and regularly updating them regarding the learning outcomes of students with different abilities, background, the learning styles you adopt and handling differences in the classrooms. A regular update via a meeting or documentation is important along with uploading the videos of children learning and growing in social media that supports your vision of inclusive education.
