Resistance in thought leadership is an opportunity to grow. When faced with pushback, focus on understanding the root of the challenge—listen actively, adjust where needed, and stay true to your vision. Collaboration, not confrontation, builds stronger networks. Embrace diverse perspectives as catalysts for innovation, and let resistance sharpen your ideas. Persistence, openness, and adaptability turn barriers into bridges.

Maybe my idea is the nuclear option, but politely call them out on it. Mentioning that you gave them that idea in a prior one on one. However only do this if you have proof of course. In situations where a senior leader appropriates your ideas, it's crucial to approach the matter with a blend of professionalism and strategic communication. Building a strong personal brand through consistent thought leadership—such as publishing articles or speaking at events—can also help establish your authority in the field. Fostering relationships with other leaders and peers can create a supportive network that recognizes and amplifies your contributions, making it harder for others to claim your ideas without acknowledgment.
