When screen sharing fails mid-training, keep the momentum going with these strategies:
- Switch to Plan B: Have a backup presentation method ready, such as emailed slides or a document share.
- Engage directly: Use this time for Q&A or group discussion to maintain engagement.
- Quick tech fixes: Attempt basic troubleshooting, like restarting the app or checking internet connectivity.
Encountered a tech hiccup during training? How did you handle it?
-
Backup Presentation: Use emailed slides or shared documents as alternatives if screen sharing fails, ensuring continuity in training. Engage Participants: Shift focus to Q&A sessions or group discussions to maintain participant interest and involvement. Tech Troubleshooting: Quickly troubleshoot issues by restarting the app or checking internet connections to resolve screen sharing problems. Encourage Feedback: Solicit participant feedback on the session's content to adapt and improve engagement during technical difficulties. Practice Resilience: Share personal experiences of overcoming tech issues to foster a supportive environment and encourage others to share their solutions.

If the screen-sharing feature crashes during training, calmly inform participants and quickly switch to a backup plan, such as sharing materials via email or a cloud link. Continue the session verbally, explaining key concepts while troubleshooting or finding an alternative way to display content, keeping engagement and momentum intact.
-
If the screen sharing is getting disturbed, what i do is, i will make some other person as the host, mail them the presentation & ask them to share. By this the flow will go properly & the particular participant will help us in navigating the slide. Even if that is not working out, the trainer should be capable of conducting the session without presentations as well. It can be done through discussion, creative activities etc

Activity switch or comfort break is usually an easy to deploy strategy whilst you investigate. Give people a question to ponder, topic to research, activity to do...and maybe encourage a stretch/comfort break at the same time.

When this happens, I use this as a time for a brain break. I ask everyone to stand up, walk around the office and come back. Get's the energy back up and gives you some time to get back on track
