It may happen many times where your research and findings are conflicting with the client's expectations, this is a very common dilemma. To handle these situations we must ensure to have a one-on-one meeting with the clients to explain the methodology of research and findings in the general words and not in the technical words, because not all individuals belong to the technical background, after that we must find the potential solutions where reiterating the project objectives will be effective along with clarification of any misconceptions or miscommunication will be the great way for further clarifications of client's doubts.

Sometimes, the unexpected can lead to valuable insights. Communicate Clearly: Have an honest conversation with the client. Explain your findings in a clear and concise manner, highlighting any unexpected trends or patterns. Offer Alternative Perspectives: Suggest ways to interpret the data differently or explore additional avenues of research. When my research findings clash with a client's expectations, I approach the situation with transparency and empathy. First, I ensure I fully understand their perspective by actively listening to their concerns. Then, I present the findings clearly, backing them up with data and rationale to explain how I arrived at my conclusions. I acknowledge their expectations while emphasizing the importance of the research results. Additionally, I explore potential solutions or adjustments that can align their goals with the findings. By maintaining open communication and focusing on collaboration, I aim to raise a constructive dialogue that can lead to a shared understanding and a path forward.

Offer a collaborative solution based on scenarios. Propose scenario planning where the client can see different potential outcomes based on research findings versus their original expectations. Create an action plan that shows how to pivot depending the scenario. This approach can reduce the perception of risk by giving clients control over their options and because they participated in the process, they are more inclined to accept the recommendation.
