Steps to consider: Your reaction can set the tone for how others perceive you. Take a moment to gather your thoughts before responding. Avoid confrontation. Speak to the individuals involved, if appropriate & clarify any misunderstandings. Be calm & factual. Avoid any escalation. Continue to demonstrate your competence & dedication at work. Focus on delivering high-quality work. Maintain positive interactions with colleagues to counter any negative perceptions. Consider having a transparent conversation with your manager. Share your perspective. Clarify any misinformation. Emphasize your commitment to the team's goals. Strengthen your connections with colleagues. Engage in team-building activities to help drown out the noise of gossip.

When office gossip targets you, reclaim your image with finesse: Stay Cool: Don’t engage in the drama. Smile, keep doing great work, and remember, gossip fades but results stick. Set the Record Straight (Casually): If necessary, casually drop the truth like it’s no big deal: “Oh, that rumor? If only my life was that exciting!” Focus on Your Wins: Let your work shine so brightly that the gossip looks like background noise. Kill ‘Em with Kindness: Be so professional and kind that it leaves no room for negativity. Gossipers love drama, not growth. In short, your best revenge? Success and a little humor!

If there is office gossip in an establishment and even up to the extent of rubbishing or putting someone's reputation on the line, then it means there are no rules there and also the management is poor. So, indirectly the gossips is also mocking the management for being poor in affirs, because, the gossip is breathing all over the office. I would suggest you talk to your manager to call the peolpe doing this in the company impose strict conditions onwards covering everyone to be careful not to take this risk again or else the offenders will face a huge penalty, That way, there will be good work flow again in the office Thank you
