Frameworks and processes should not be blindly applied to fix a problem with productivity. The specific issues and team dynamics need to be solved for to jumpstart the appropriate changes.

Enrich the process and materials is the basic to make alternative product (In my experience as Food R&D). To Enrich Process we can collaborate with OEM or University. And to enrich unique materials we go to exhibition, event or market research, and also keep humble with our supplier to make effective communication about trend & new product inspiration. R&D team must have Time management skill. So they can see how much time & cost to do its activity. ??????????

A great way to optimize resources is setting priorities to tasks and goals. This allows the team to move forward with key element of the project first, and allocate their time and budget towards completing key priorities that will lead to greater advancement on the project.

Good way of iterating is to work with data, leveraging it while building new assumptions. In my company I've built an iterative process with Big and Small Hypotheses. Big Hypo is a very raw one, that requires a high-level research and market, competitor or consumer analysis. It should take no more than 1 week to gather all the data and complete the research. After the research is completed, we brainstorm the results, decompose it to a bunch of small hypos, rank them using JTBD framework. From here you can move iteratively testing few hypos in 2-week sprints, conducting retro and descoping or improving them.
