This involves checking critical systems and components, such as generators, transformers, and transmission lines, to detect any faults or anomalies. Also inspect control and monitoring systems to ensure there are no communication issues or sensor failures that could be reporting incorrect information. Using diagnostic tools and monitoring software can help isolate the source of the power outage, facilitating more accurate and efficient identification.

Don’t stall! As immediately as possible, dissolve the natural reaction to “freak out”. Check fuel supply pressure, inlet air DPs, Inlet Guide vane positions, determine if condition is “run back” or uncontrolled loss of output.

Many times, we like to jump past the easy things that we doubt it could be at first, only to need to come back and fix something we should have found much more quickly.

Then I would check any newtork intrusion in the Alarm Sequence Display, After that I would read the troubleshooting manual After that, I may extract record from Digital Fault Recorder and in case of trip (the best is to have a Grid Compliance Analysis system) … In brief, I would love to have the most extended monitoring system, and my north start would be to enjoy an AI support for facilitating fault diagnostic and remediation… But which Asset Owner would pay it?
