I think the first thing we need to do is Acknowledge the concern understand why we are being criticized. Acknowledging their concern is the most important Over the years this to my experience is that is sorts almost 80% of the issue and wrath of any customer. Once you are able to understand the issue the other most important thing is to clarify is there is a mistake or provide a practical solution. Reinforce your commitment to solving the issue and/or improvement in the situation. Having said all this it’s important we should not compromise with the basic ethos of the company. Sometimes it’s just perspective and that has to be rectified… Thin line but very important to analyse.

As a marketing professional getting a criticism is sometimes demotivating. However, marketing is a data driven art work and hence we are bound to make mistakes as not everyone will agree with your creativity. - The very first step would be to acknowledge it politely and then try to explain your perspective and intention. - If the audience still backlashes and criticises then the next step would be a kind apology and putting the post down. In my MBA I learned that the true leader holds accountable and ownership to what decision he/she has made.
