For me, it is about asking open questions to define at what level their self-doubt come from (on their capacity, behaviour, feelings, self-sabotaging thoughts, etc.) and then I would refocus the conversation on their strengths and how they contribute to the team. I would end up by helping them define the next 3 small actions that they can do that will prove to themselves they can beat their self-doubt.

Imposter syndrome sneaks up on the best of us! Remind your junior executive that 70% of professionals feel it at some point (that’s like, 7 out of 10 people at the coffee machine!). Coach them to reframe their thoughts—shift from "I’m not enough" to "I’m learning and growing." Studies show that self-compassion and reflection activate neural pathways to boost confidence. Guide them to celebrate small wins and build their leadership mindset. Call for action: Have them list 3 recent achievements and how they felt—it rewires the brain and builds resilience! Imposters? Nah, we’re just undercover superheroes in training!
