If your problem solving approach conflicts companies policy I advise you start thinking of an alternative approach while you do the following; Communicate to your superior or director on the advantages of your approach and inform him/her clearly about the clash with company policy. You can choose to try your approach on a small scale and see it's benefit. If your approach will have an adverse effect in future please rethink but if it's something that will be of long term advantage do your best to convince. Please document every agreement, because you signed company policies and it's a legal document that can be used against you. So any step of this your approach document and if possible get your company to sign a permit to execute.
