Here is one of my "best practice" approaches. Use a rotating spokesperson method where each side selects someone to present their views, and then the other side reflects and reports what they heard. This technique ensures each perspective is fully understood and can build empathy within the group, helping them work toward a balanced decision.

Invite empathy and curiosity. What could the other person be feeling or experiencing that they take a conflicting stance? Instead of trying to settle which side is right, get a deeper understanding into what each group member really wants as an outcome. Oftentimes the conflicting group members want the same outcome, but may have fixations that their way is the best. Coaching them to open their perspective, to each contribute their strength, and make agreement on how to support each other towards the same goal - even if the ways are different.
