Project delays are generally caused by overburdened teams rather than competence deficiencies. The objective is to create a collaborative environment in which engineers feel empowered to raise concerns early. By rearranging timetables and recognising tiny victories, we generate momentum that organically pulls projects back on track. This people-first approach, combined with specific weekly goals, typically produces better results than pure deadline pressure.

If engineering teams are missing deadlines, first, identify why—whether it’s due to shifting requirements, technical hurdles, or resource gaps. Reassess the project's goals and realign the roadmap to focus on high-impact tasks. Encourage transparency, asking the team to voice blockers and challenges openly. Adjust resources or bring in additional support where needed. To drive accountability and urgency, set shorter, achievable milestones and track progress closely, making course corrections as necessary. Be clear about the business impact and the importance of getting back on track.

1. Fast tracking the project - call for team meeting, look for fast tracking oppurtunity in the work program. At the same time, closely monitor the QAQC of the fastracked works 2. If got extra resources i.e. Money, crash the work program, look for works that can be crashed, put extra resources to complete the mitigate the delay. Once project back on track, back to the normal pace to anticipate cost overun.

Adopt Time-Boxing: Set shorter delivery cycles to ensure continuous progress. Track Metrics: Use key performance indicators (KPIs) like sprint velocity to monitor progress without micromanaging. Schedule regular mid-project reviews to adjust plans dynamically, ensuring you stay on the right path.
