I have recently encountered a similar issue wherein OEM presented a unique problem. We were supposed to install a platform agnostic retrofit that will communicate the Iot data to the Network Operations Center. The OEM informed me at the last moment that the version that is in the warehouse is not interoperable. The situation was mitigated by the following measures: 35% - Same platform scope. 65%- Changing OEM IOT as 2 OEMs were engaged. so first lost its share of Business Interoperating projects usually comes with such glitches. The mode and frequency of communication should be agreed during the project kickoff. If there are third parties involved the SoW and contracts should be agreed and signed beforehand to avoid any possible delays due to ambiguities related roles and responsibilities.

Establish daily stand-up meetings to address issues quickly. Monitoring of each activity so closely to find out any loop holes. Create a clear escalation process for decision-making. Ensure all stakeholders are regularly updated on progress and changes.

Use drilling simulation software to optimize processes. Implement remote monitoring systems for real-time data analysis. Utilize predictive maintenance tools to prevent equipment failures. Explore automation options for repetitive tasks.

There should be proper resource management plan to ensure all resources are aligned to the project. Also, in order to avoid any delay due to resource unavailability, a contingency should also be built in the project plan. If assigned resources have planned holidays, project plan should be aligned accordingly or backup resources should be secured. Important - Overloaded human resource may contribute to timely delivery, but such deliveries are prone to errors.
