Defining your project scope is a key element of project planning. Without a clear scope statement, your project could warp and grow beyond your team’s ability to complete it, causing delays or burnout. Your project scope helps you envision the entire lifecycle of your project and make sure your end goals are achievable. Specifically, defining your project scope allows you to: ? Ensure all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the boundaries of the project ? Manage stakeholder expectations and get buy-in ? Reduce project risk ? Budget and resource plan appropriately ? Align your project to its main objectives ? Prevent scope creep ? Establish a process for change requests (for complex projects)

Financial Force is a great tool for project management. It is one of the most comprehensive PM tools. It not only helps to manage and monitor the projects but also enables to do resource management, time logging & tracking and helps in measuring and tracking revenue and profitability. FF also offers many relevant dashboards which foster effective account and portfolio management.

Consultants tend to be heavily focused on solving clients’ problems. That’s both the best and most risky thing about your profession. Going above and beyond for your clients requires a significant amount of research, critical thinking, data analysis and collaboration — in other words, time and money. As a consequence, you and your team may not have had the time or resources to focus on the systems that need to be in place to support a heavy workload, nor considered that project management is likely one of the most important parts of your business.

Breaking down your project into manageable tasks is essential for enhancing productivity. Once you've defined the scope and goals, identify the specific activities or tasks required to achieve them. Break these tasks down into smaller, actionable steps that your team can easily tackle. W-O-R-K can be broken down into- 1. Wire Frames with 2. Organized groups to follow a 3. Roadmap that aligns with the 4. KPIs of the project. Keeping these Wire Frames, Organized groups, Road map and KPIs in mind, tracking team performance and well-being along the way ensures ticking deliverables off the list. Breakdown overwhelming WORK to Units of daily jobs and align passions of team members with groups of work on the wire frame. One step each day, goes a long way!

To further build on this, a simple way I have managed tasks after being broken down is to use a prioritization matrix to see which tasks are the most urgent, quick, and/or impactful. This can be a quick 30 minute exercise with the team to ensure that even if certain tasks cannot be completed in time due to obstacles, we can deliver as much value to our client as possible and ensure our deliverables are to the best of our capabilities.

Both techniques offer a flexible and dynamic platform for project planning and execution, improve team communication, and boost overall efficiency.

Saw “flexible project schedule”, so wanted to write something about it. Read the text and understood that there is nothing about flexibility. And it is understandable. 99% of consultants are lazy, (that’s not a joke, however it is not bed??) most of smart ppl are lazy. If you are a project manager and managing team of at least two ppl: - Make “non flexible” deadlines, so analysts will do their part in time; - Divide everything into tasks for max 3 days; - Save at least 20% of given time to have possibility cover lost deadlines and fixing mistakes without bothering your client to prolong deadline;

Effective communication is key to any project's success. Project team members should be able to communicate effectively with both clients and fellow team members. Several strategies can be implemented to improve communication in a project these include communicating clearly about project milestones and challenges.

Once the project is broken down into tasks, a Gantt chart should help to plan the delivery on each task. Then comes regular follow-up with the team. With regular and open communication, one has to understand where the team is getting stuck. Provide necessary inputs to keep the progress as planned. Collaboration tools, like, MS Teams, will help. Ceate a project specific channel in Teams and encourage team members to proactively communicate on issues and challenges that they face. This helps in addressing them as they occur and keep the progression as planned.

Firstly, identify the root cause of low productivity, it could be lack of motivation, unclear goals or insufficient resources. Setting clear goals and expectations is really important, through which everyone is clear about their individual roles and responsibility. Set Pareto Principle (80/20) which helps in being more productive and achieve project success. Breakdown tasks and set realistic deadlines along with sufficient resourcing. Initiate rewards and recognition to improve motivation and monitor the progress regularly. Trello is one of the project management tool which can be opted and for communication MS Teams or Slack could be helpful.

Part of project tracking and making sure everything is getting completed includes communication. Setting up weekly calls with clients or team to update on what's happening is important. This can cut out gaps in terms of logistics and help figure out solution fast. This also keeps accountability in check

To maximize efficiency in consulting teams, it's crucial to precisely monitor project performance and outcomes. Measuring what worked AND what didn't work so well is critical. Then analyze that data. What could have been differently, what would different execution add? Would it accelerate the entire project or just a portion of it? This is what allows a project manager to continually improve.

Se debe de llevar un registro y un acopio de las lecciones que se van aprendiendo en el desarrollo del proyecto y revisar y aplicar las lecciones aprendidas de otros proyectos que nos ayuden para hacer más eficiente el desarrollo del proyecto actual. Una buena práctica es la medición cuantificable de lo que pueda ser medido de esta manera en el proyecto para comparar lo esperado con lo obtenido y saber si estamos "dentro" o "fuera" de lo esperado y/o programado y poder corregir lo que pueda ser corregido y repetir lo que hicimos bien, si puede replicarse.

The smaller chunks and the realistic goals we talked about, must be easily measurable, not for the sake of control but primarily for you to be able to continuously achieve and tick off your tasks from the list. The progress and completion of tasks will motivate you further to pick up new tasks and so on.

Measures: 1. impact: economical, ecological or social (1 person saves 100.000 USD by using your concept, 1 person saves 10.000 kg of CO2, 1 person raised employee happiness by 15% by using your concept) 2. outcome (5 people used that in daily business) 3. output (15 persons learned sth in your workshop) 4. activities (do that workshop) 5. input (conceptualize a workshop)

To improve productivity, I had start by breaking down tasks among team members to ensure clarity and accountability. Next, tracking progress is key. Tools like Jira and Trello are great for this. Finally, for collaboration and communication, consider platforms like MS Teams or Slack. These tools can enhance task management, visibility, and teamwork, which will ultimately boost productivity.

The first thing I would do is quite simple. I would ASK THE TEAM. That conversation might need some additional facilitation, of course. But I cannot think of a better way to begin.

The first sign of lowered morale is productivity dropping , and I see it as a symptom of the working environment and the factors effecting it. If productivity has dropped team wide and no one has raised the issue , you’ve already lost a battle. Regular individual calls and monitoring of the lead flow and other aspects of the business that directly impact your consultants is SO important. The less multi tasking the team has to do, the more they often get done. If you’ve hired the right staff , the productivity drop is caused by the numerous factors in your business affecting the team , as opposed to the team themselves.

Project management (PM) tools and dashboards help ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency. It is essential to: 1. Research the appropriate tools for your projects, team, and organizational needs. 2. Provide ongoing training to your team on how to use those tools. 3. Develop a relationship with and communicate with the PM company’s representative. This is helpful if and when issues arise with the tools. Additionally, the representative can keep you updated on new features.
