I think what takes a pressing statement is when a company openly and actively promotes sustainability. More and more I am seeing companies embrace sustainability as part of wider health, safety and environmental foundations. In my opinion employees are more likely to engage in environmental sustainability, if they, themselves feel valued by the company and can see the link between their health and environmental health. External stakeholders will often require some level of sustainability practice, but if a company is proud and passionate about their sustainability practices, this will shine through and may be the deciding factor of being offered a contract.
