Additionally, it encourages using biometric authentication, such as fingerprint or facial recognition, for an additional layer of security. Also, it's essential to acknowledge that security is not static. Regularly review and update authentication methods to adapt to evolving threats.

Vulnerability leads to cyber risk. Legacy systems are targeted. The best way to keep them up-to-date is to update operational systems. Malware enters through the network. This is to prevent it from happening. Then update software to prevent vulnerabilities. Software can cause XSS problems.

Regular updates are key for security, but managing them in a remote work setup requires careful planning to avoid disruptions. Starting with a phased rollout helps catch any issues early before they impact everyone. Scheduling updates during off-hours can minimize interruptions to work. Staggering updates across devices prevents widespread problems, and having a rollback option is essential if something goes wrong. Monitoring the updates in real-time ensures any issues are quickly addressed, keeping both security and productivity intact.

Some keys for successful security updates: * Use strong GPO policies to force PATCH TUESDAY updates within a week & to lock down devices so users cannot alter security controls * Develop inventory of ALL DEVICES keeping devices beyond just Windows alone updated (include mobile devices for example) * Set user devices to AUTOUPDATE (esp. the O/S, VPN agent, A/V, and all browsers) * Schedule 1X per month update of all WINDOWS & Open Source SERVERS (with downtime known by all) * Set up an EMERGENCY PATCH program - in case a major ZERO DAY outbreak occurs * Get off older devices that can only run WIN10 & move to more secure WIN11 for example (same for smartphones also) * NMAP + other scanning tools to inventory & find devices not in compliance

ACTIVE User security awareness TRAINING is always needed to teach best security practices. It's always beneficial for documents to have screenshots & step-by-step instructions. Every company should invest in a full time SECURITY AWARENESS trainer -- if they can -- who can build a best practices intranet website, blog internally/externally, promote security policies, create concise monthly newsletters. conduct TEAMS/ZOOM training, etc. When we train users to be defensive & think of every email or link as a potential danger -- it keeps us safer. We must "THINK BEFORE WE CLICK" :)

SECURITY INCIDENT RESPONSE PLAN is a mandatory generic & detailed outline prepared in ADVANCE of attacks. It is acted upon based on the nature of security incident.
