To rebuild trust, I would lean on 3 key aspects : - creating the relationship in an authentic way by getting to know each other - listening to the why he / she is looking for coaching - reinforcing what Coaching is about, what he/ she can expect, framing the goals and way forward.

Rebuilding trust with a client who has been let down by previous coaches begins with transparency, personalized support, and a strong emphasis on tangible results. I openly share my proven framework and structured process, detailing each stage so they can see the roadmap we’ll follow together. This process isn't one-size-fits-all; it’s customized to meet their unique needs and goals. I then walk them through relevant success stories of clients who’ve faced similar challenges and achieved transformation through my coaching, highlighting both the outcomes and the specific strategies that made them possible. I create a tailored action plan focusing directly on core pain points, with immediate, achievable steps they can start implementing.

Let the client share their experience, without interrupting or offering immediate solutions.Show understanding and empathy towards how the past experiences have impacted their perception of coaching.Clarify the coaching process: Explain how your coaching approach works, what they can expect, and how progress will be measured.Focus on short-term achievements: Set immediate, manageable tasks that allow them to see early successes.Help the client recognize their growth through reflective practices, such as journaling or self-assessment.Allow the relationship to build at their pace, recognizing that trust may take longer given past experiences.
