Avoid saying "yes" just to present yourself as a "go getter" or a "team player". Keep your work hours strict, and ask questions when new tasks are given about due dates and priority level. "When is this due?" "I am also currently working on X, does this take priority over it? If so, I will need to push the due date for X so I can get this done for you."
