Strategic CSR is about tying who you are as a company to your ability to create a positive impact. This implies that, in addition to tying your CSR to your mission, visions and values, you also need to think about your unique value proposition and how you align that with your efforts to make a difference. It doesn’t make a lot of sense for food and beverage company to be contributing to guide dogs. It makes more sense and it is more effective for such a company to contribute to food security.

The first step would be to educate your team about the company's CSR objectives and/or initiatives. Relate them to broader societal and environmental goals and impress upon them why such initiatives are important. Second, encourage open dialogue and communication to understand the team's interests and address the concerns if they have any. Third, deliberate how CSR principles could be integrated into team goals and performance evaluations, thereby demonstrating the organization's commitment to social responsibility. Fourth, provide your team with opportunities to volunteer and/or participate in CSR initiatives relevant to their skills and interests. Additionally, lead by example by actively engaging in CSR initiatives yourself.

The easier approach, one aligned with international developments and expectations, is to embed the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights Principles 16-21–human rights due diligence systems—into the decision making frameworks of corporate activity.

Once the company vision and values are ascertained, it’s easy to structure your intentions to give back to the society. To formulate the objectives where the society can benefit and to inculcate values and imbibe the giving act are valuable gestures to complete are purpose of living .

Stakeholders, staff, customers, suppliers, the local community and your competition often have great insights into what community and environment need. Never rely upon a single view point when it comes to CSR. People care about lots of things. Prioritise your business outcome and just do it! ??

Le travail sur la RSE est une occasion pour découvrir, identifier et valoriser les compétences cachées des membres de l'équipe. Ces compétences non exploitées par l'entreprise sont parfois source de frustration de perte de motivation, les mettre en avant dans le cadre des projets RSE est une formidable opportunité pour garantir la cohésion et la motivation de l'équipe et donc la réussite des projets.

In our research on mandatory CSR by Indian companies, we got to understand most companies go for education and health centric initiatives for the sake of fulfilling the compliance,however, the respective outcomes of such initiatives are not measured. There is a growing need of "walking the talk" rather than just going for "greenwashing".

While I agree with the content an important context in this regard is the regulatory guidelines issued by countries to govern the direction of CSR Projects. In case of India Schedule VII of the companies act clearly defined areas like - education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, women empowerment,rural development, sanitation and skill development etc uponn which social research can be conducted to align CSR objectives.

Establish specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objectives for each CSR initiative to track progress and success. Allocate necessary resources including budget, manpower, and time, to support the implementation of CSR initiatives aligned with corporate strategy.

Nous observons malheuresement une redondance dans les types des actions pratiquées par els entreprises en réponse aux questions sociales et environnementales. L'entrerise doit faire preuve d'innovation et de pertinence dans le défintion des actions à entreprendre, en partant d'analyses approfindies de son contexte et de ses enjeux. Faire du caritatif ou des actions environnementales basiques n'est pas pertinent si les conditions de travail au sein même de l'entreprise ne sont pas en respect des exigences normatives et réglementaires.

CSR initiatives must be in line with the organization's vision and mission. On the other hand, CSR must be essential in the context of the target group. A balance of the two is important. A dominant image of a CSR program with vague perceived benefits to beneficiaries goes in the wrong direction and may be a public deception. In this case, verification of a CSR claim is important by the relevant authorities.

Importante que se avalie os problemas da comunidade em que está inserido antes de tudo. Depois de entender as necessidades, trazer para a empresa a necessidade e trabalhar em equipe para identificarem, em conjunto, as ideias que poderiam ser implementadas. Unfortunately this is where some corporate CSR initiatives fail because they do not involve one of the key stakeholders early in the planning process, i.e. the NGO partner. Some corporates only one to achieve their objectives without taking in the needs of the NGO or its beneficiaries. An example is a corporate wanting to involve hundreds of its staff with an NGO which only has space for 20 or 30 volunteers. All collaborations should be a win-win else why would a NGO want to work with you?

Understanding the visions and capabilities of the organization, particularly those of the founders and the board of directors, stands out as a crucial initial step. However, Material analysis relies on the involvement of key stakeholders is important. While recognizing the expectations and requirements of external stakeholders holds significant importance and impact, any responsible action within the organization falls short of achieving its objectives without the support and collaboration of the board of directors and human resources.

Form strategic partnerships with other organizations, NGOs, or government bodies to amplify the impact of your CSR initiatives and ensure they support broader industry or societal goals. Such collaborations can enhance the credibility and reach of your CSR efforts. Algo que considero que fortalece los programas de responsabilidad social es el pensarlos desde una perspectiva de negocio; las áreas de responsabilidad social son una parte del negocio, por lo cual deben generar beneficio y no sólo gasto. Empatar las acciones de RSC a que abonen al cumplimiento de metas de la empresa, es estratégico para que la inversión social genere mayores impactos internos además de los externos. Por ejemplo, el planear cómo los programas de voluntariado corporativo se alinean para abonar al cumplimiento de metas de carácter ambiental, o de recursos humanos, y así seleccionar los proyectos de intervención así como los procesos de implementación.

La RSC es de darle vida constantemente, de que los involucrados lo vivan, lo transmitan para que se sumen. Y como todo en la vida si se realizará algo, lo haremos bien y le daremos la seriedad y dedicación que amerite.

En cas d’absence de politique RSE au niveau de l’entreprise, une démarche ??bottom-up?? peut être mise en place afin de remonter des idées et des initiatives. Dans une approche consensuelle, cette démarche est souvent appréciée du top management.
