Define clear, SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals that align with your team's and company's objectives. Regularly update your boss on your progress to showcase your achievements and dedication. ??

Employees with string professional personal brands are more like to get recognized for their hard work, and approached to participate in new projects, or suggested for promotions. This is because their personal brand is their professional fingerprint, and it showcases their expertise and leadership. This starts with self-reflection, identifying future goals, setting goals, creating a plan to learn & grow while performing excellent work. Documentation and content creation is key..as well as building a network, connecting with thought leaders in the industry, collaboration, & voicing professional opinion and value by participating in industry discussions. These are just few examples of building a professional personal brand.

Getting promoted or getting a raise is not a function of working harder. It's a function of adding value. Someone can work hard on something that is not relevant to that organization and it won't add value. Someone else can put in less time, but be hyper focused on something that is relevant to the organization or the leader and it will be recognized. To add more value requires us to work hard on ourselves. The more we grow, the more valuable we become. The valuable we become, the more we can add value to the organization. Organizations don't pay well for work, they pay extremely well for value.

In SMART goals a holistic approach that combines technical competence, interpersonal skills, and strategic thinking will position you well for that coveted promotion! ??

Having set SMART(Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals helps you articulate what you want to achieve and provides a clear roadmap for your efforts. For example, instead of a vague goal like "improve performance," you might set a SMART goal like "increase sales by 15% within the next quarter." This not only gives you direction but also allows you to track your progress and demonstrate tangible results to your boss.

Document your Achievements: Keep a record of your accomplishments, including any accolades, awards, or positive feedback received from colleagues or clients. This documentation will serve as evidence of your hard work and achievements when it comes time for performance evaluations or promotion discussions.

While keeping detailed records is useful, I don't believe it's the best way to highlight your hard work. In my opinion, good communication and showing real results have more impact. Regular updates about your progress, problems, and their solutions can be more effective than just writing everything down. Showing that you understand the project's goals, can solve problems, and contribute to the bigger picture can leave a stronger impression.

I always suggest to my coaching and mentoring clients that they prepare a concise weekly report and send it to their superiors. This helps them stay organized and aware of their own results and pending tasks. Additionally, it keeps the boss informed, fosters collaboration, and includes them in the processes. The benefits are numerous.

Uma coisa que aprendi a duras penas é que n?o adianta você saber que faz um ótimo trabalho se as pessoas desconhecem ele. Você precisa sempre comunicar e dar visibilidade do que está fazendo. E isso deve ser feito para o seu chefe, para as pessoas que conversam com o seu chefe, para os seus interlocutores no dia a dia de trabalho (sejam áreas internas, clientes externos, seus pares, seus fornecedores).

I think both communication and technical skills are important, especially for R&D jobs. Being good at your job helps you do quality work and come up with new ideas. Even though talking and understanding each other is good for working together, if you don't have the right skills, your work might not be as good or right. I believe having both skills is important for doing well and moving up.

Cada logro alcanzado en tu área asegurate que tenga algún impacto oen la empresa y con tus colaboradores. Asegurate de dar a conocer los avances que has hecho, y que tu avance (por ejemplo protocolos, templates, etc.) sean utiles y sean usados por tus compa?eros, ayudandoles a eficientizar sus procesos y mejorar la calidad de trabajo. Recuerda que el impacto se medirá por el beneficio en incremento de eficiencia.

Seeking opportunities, especially ones that need to be done but may not be the most glamorous, will show that you are willing to do what others may not. Taking these opportunities will demonstrate teamwork, a collaborative mentality and the ability to make things happen for yourself. This will also most likely ensure that your manager hears this feedback from others - communicating about career advancement with your manager is important, and demonstrating that you are willing to do whatever it takes to be a leader will most like encourage your stakeholders to communicate with your manager which is a powerful way to gain recognition necessary for a promotion.

Consistency is key. Showing up every day will get you noticed for your work ethic. So long as there is consistency and hard work, the luck of earning a promotion will converge paths with you.

Look for opportunities to go above and beyond your job responsibilities. Volunteer for additional projects, take on leadership roles, or propose innovative solutions to problems. Demonstrating initiative and a willingness to take on challenges showcases your potential for advancement. Example if you can handle two parallel role in say Regulatory and Business development , it gives you an edge over others, where you gain experience on Business development way of working along with Regulatory.

Siempre es importante escuchar y conocer los procesos de los colaboradores y el equipo cercano, que nos permita identificar las áreas de oportunidad en los procesos, esto nos ayudará a aprender de cada uno de ellos, como visualizan el impacto que esta teniendo cada uno, así como identificar como pueden incrementar la colaboración. En esas conversaciones se identificará también que herramientas o procesos necesitan ser afinadas para lograr un mayor exito.

Use feedback as an opportunity to refine your approach and enhance your skills. I would also suggest you to welcome candid feedbacks from your collogues and friends to help your overall development.

The keys to ensuring that your boss/bosses see your hard work are communication, collaboration, and the ability to change and or adapt to the ever-changing environment of the company. Communicate daily to ensure that your boss sees the work you are doing. Collaborate by working with the team and or 3 parties to ensure that work is getting done. Lastly, view change as an opportunity, not a threat. Anticipate that things will evolve and be enthusiastic about learning new things.

You must also take Initiative. Look for opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, or lead new projects that align with your career goals and showcase your abilities. Identify areas where you can add value to the team or organization and present your ideas to your manager.
