In any project, not just tech, I always encourage one junior team member to step up and take the lead. Before the big group meeting, I’ll have a one-on-one rehearsal with them to go through the presentation and ensure they’re ready. During the meeting, I only jump in if necessary, otherwise, I let them take charge. This gives them a chance to grow, and I guide them without overshadowing. Regular cadence meetings keep everything on track. As leaders, building trust is important. When we trust our team, we can confidently delegate tasks, knowing they'll step up when it matters.

To help them see things from different angles, pair them up with teachers or put them on cross-functional teams. You'll give them the power to lead and do well in tech projects if you give them a safe place to grow and learn.
