You want to create professional presentations that don't take all day. How can you do it?

In my experience, from the book 7 habits of a successful person, having end goal in mind is the most important thing. I would start with below 2 things to target and write down before preparing any presentation : 1. Who is my audience? - This is very important, same topic needs different ways when you are presenting up to the chain of command and below to the chain of command, inside the company and outside audience. 2. What do I want to achieve? - Another important aspect is to know the goal of the presentation. The storyline of the presentation should lead the audience to the conclusion.

- Emphasize message conveyance over showcasing extensive knowledge. - Prioritize key messaging in your presentation. - Adopt a three-point approach for clear communication. - Ensure audience focus on the message, not distracting slides. - Structure your content like a story: start, middle, and conclusion/recommendation. - Utilize a consistent design template, avoiding excessive colors. - Opt for graphical representation over textual content for impact.

Keeping presentations clear and engaging is all about simplicity. Overloading slides can confuse rather than enlighten. I focus on using key visuals like infographics or icons to convey complex ideas simply.

Don’t use slides. Everyone is sick to death of them. If you must, give the audience a ‘leave-behind’ summarizing key points, any technical detail and next steps.

In my experience, presentations should have the following - Clear goals for what your presentation wants to convey ( what do you want to get out of it) - A proper context / story of why and what it is that you are presenting in the beginning - Your compelling story for presentation should meet with very clear and comprehensible visualization - Less words on slides and more visualization (Make bullet points) -Always keep time aside for Q&A

It is an art to write short. A novelist said, because I can’t write small, I ended up with a novel. When I do a presentation, I define number of slides, what is the message of each slide and what are the contents of each slide- for example- pictures, charts, shapes/smart arts etc. Again it is important to choose it according to audience.

I usually try to dissect in themes and create the flow among them while creating links to details necessary or useful for each theme.

I believe, the most important things to consider is your target audience, whether client, management, sr leaders etc., and the objective of the presentation, basis which your content will alter. Self-explanatory slide heading, visually appealing content, crisp take homes from each slide will help to engage the audience and deliver right messege. With the attention span shrinking day by day, short presentation yield far fetched results. The presenter is the deciding authority for content, but for designing the slide, various AI tools are available.

Cuando se tenga estructurado el mensaje que se quiere transmitir es hora de plasmarlo en una presentación. Es el momento de poner en juego la creatividad para captar la atención del público y pueda ser amena la presentación. Ahora, como saber que gráfico, ilustración, contenido o texto poner? Human beings are created to think in patterns and that is why structure is so critical to a presentation. The traditional structure of introduction, body and conclusion remains classical. I heard someone once saying the following about PowerPoint presentations: "too many Points, no Power". Personally, I try to avoid ppt slides, and if using then keeping the number of slides/content to absolute minimum.

Pictorial way of explanation is more direct and engaging than words (keep few bullets). 2. Connect the dots- the slide should follow the previous and lead to the next. 3. Every slide should have one conclusive message.

Keeping it simple is the key to success! When you retain a key message throughout your presentation you captivate your audience. Ensure you have clear concise data that is easy to understand and more importantly easy to convey as the content should be easily relayed by your audience.

A success of a presentation is to get an agreement on , 1. is there a problem? , 2. if so what's it? 3. Do you have an urgent need to resolve the issue? And last, 4. can we come to agreement on how to solve the problem.

A mirror is not a good advice, as we get used to it but then we miss it during a presentation. A video recording is much better, as we see if our presentation is as good as it was in our minds. It is also good to have a big picture of people staring at you when rehearsing the presentation. This way you feel the pressure and get used to avoid the scenic panic.

I agree with the all of the above steps as they are all crucial for making a successful presentation. The more it is concise and straightforward, the better it is in my opinion. Even though having a nice presentation is handy, the way the presenter presents it is the most important thing for the audience. If it is done virtually, I would advise to make sure the speaker’s face appears in the center, the voice is clear, and the presentation is clear with the proper lighting and zooming. If the presentation is done in person, then the body language and eye contact should be also considered especially while transitioning from slide to slide. Confidence is key to every successful presentation.
