Undoubtedly, automatic text extraction tools save time and effort even though the results are not 100% accurate, especially in case of Arabic. After the source text is extracted, it is modified and ready to be translated, timed, and hence the targeted text added to the video.

Definitely, as an AVT professional, I would use subtitle editing software, as to have a better command of timing, better adjust subtitle definitions and have a large array of formats to export/import. Another solution could be automatic transcription and/or translation, but this would require higher adjustments and revision.

We had several elements to consider while integrating our software into the parent company translation pipeline. Firstly, the products targeted for translation were developed in the UK and needed to use US English as the base. This is something we needed to carefully consider as we had never Americanized the products. Secondly, we had partial translations performed by our channel partners to various other languages, which we needed to establish ownership over. Thirdly, as the software is highly technical, we needed to proceed with a specialized review of those automated translations to verify proper translations for those languages moving forward. Translating the GUI is one item, but translating help is a slow challenge.
