Just be their friend. Ask them for coffee or lunch. Get to know them more. Ask follow up questions and be open to their questions. This does two things - by just having contact with them, it opens the door to them reaching out for help when needed or beneficial. Second, by having a relationship, when you notice things that could be helpful for them to know but they don't know they don't know, they will be more open to advice and suggestions if they already have trust and a relationship with you.
