By tapping into the commonality hidden behind the diversity so that they all relate to you - EMOTIONS: Speak from the heart to communicate your message. Share with them relatable emotional experiences - NON-VERBAL: Even if the topic/message is too dry & clinical, ensure that your audience finds you relaxed, friendly & engaging - BE AUTHENTIC: When you are being yourself, you can claim more authority simply because people find you relatable. Then they open their minds to you - and your message then can reach them. This give you a greater chance to be memorable & win their respect.

First of all, let's define "diverse audience". To me, it simply means that they can come from different background and demographics. However, it is my firm believe that when people gather together to listen to something, there is always a common goal or objective. For example, you can have students to professionals or professors coming to listen to you on how to use AI to increase productivity. In this case, all you need to do is to give examples relevant to the different audience - like how AI can help students to study better, and how AI can help professors prepare their materials. If you do so, you resonates with everyone and hence make everyone feel included.

When addressing a diverse audience in a hurry, I'd always say to tell stories that resonate and have purpose. People remember how you make them feel. That is your personal brand. I'd engage with questions like ; "How does this issue impact you personally?" or "Can anyone share a similar story or insight?" I'd be open to adapting delivery based on audience reactions, this is key. By focusing on authenticity and relatability, you have a much higher chance of resonating with (most) people. Remember you can't please everyone.

When addressing a diverse audience in a hurry, aim for simplicity, clarity, and relevance. Use universal themes that connect with everyone — such as growth, opportunity, or common goals. Avoid jargon or complex terms, and break down ideas into easy-to-grasp points. Speak with energy and confidence, keeping sentences short and direct. Incorporate anecdotes or examples that cut across cultures or demographics. If possible, acknowledge diversity to build rapport: “In a room full of experiences as rich as this, we all bring something unique.” Close with a unifying message — something everyone can relate to or feel inspired by. Above all, stay respectful, positive, and to the point.

Use simple, respectful language, and aim to strike a positive tone that fosters connection. Acknowledge the diversity of your audience, ensuring your message is culturally sensitive and free of assumptions. By staying mindful of inclusivity and focusing on shared goals or values, you can effectively connect with everyone, even under time constraints.
