My favorite and most productive tool for surfacing high-quality content for curation is Feedly. Feedly is an RSS reader that gathers content from online news, blog, and other content sources and organizes them for you by topic and source for future review and sharing. I review Feedly two or three times a week, firstly to keep up on all the latest news in my rapidly changing field of work, and secondly, to surface the very best content about it, to share with my community on LinkedIn. It includes an AI assistant to help organize and optimize your feed. Their basic product is free but I choose to pay for their Pro version, which allows me to follow up to 2500 sources. (Basic is 100 sources.) It's a great tool and I highly recommend it.

Subscribing to some great newsletters also helps to understand newer trends and curate high quality content. Also, take out sometime to read comments on interesting curated content and you will find gems there too!

The goal is to capitalize on the public's interest in a particular topic to enhance a brand's visibility and engagement. Here's an example of newsjacking: When a famous celebrity announces they're going vegan, a plant-based food company swiftly tweets a congratulatory message, highlighting their range of delicious vegan options with a catchy hashtag like #VeggieCelebrityChoices. This quick and relevant response ties the brand to a trending topic, reaching a wider audience.

One of the best ways to generate ideas for content is know have an understanding of trends and topics. Some of the platforms that most people use include Google trends and Twitter Feeds. For me, even looking at the comment sections on different platforms also helps in getting an idea about the trends and how people are engaging with a particular topic.

Often times when I am out of ideas, I ask my friends for suggestions on what else I could create. Sometimes your brain doesn't work the way you want it to, so asking your near and dear ones can be really helpful. Another thing that helps me is checking the metrics of previous posts. The metrics give me an idea about what type of content is most liked by the audience, and thus you understand what your audience wants. But again, for this to happen, you have to be consistent in posting different types of content.

Another great way to get curated content is looking at posts from your network and seeing what content they share. Two important things come out: 1. What curated content should I be sharing for them 2. How can I share their content as curated content

5 Ws and 1H technique helps in all walks of life, and the same goes for content curation. You need to be aware of what you want to create, for whom you want to create content, when do you want to post the content, why do you want to create the content or the purpose, and how will you create the content. Looking at content curation process from all these aspects can be one of the most basic techniques to come up with good quality content.

Content curation doesn't have to be limited to sharing articles or blog posts. Experimenting with different formats and styles can help you diversify your content and engage your audience in new ways. Consider curating videos, infographics, podcasts, case studies, interviews, or even user-generated content. Each format offers a unique way to present information and can cater to different preferences and learning styles.

Easy go- to ? Curating dialog from "zoom" sessions, emails' where you solved a problem, or answered a question (if they had the question someone else might also have the same question) or a process you explained to a colleague, all make great content. The beauty being you have already "written" it ??

Consume content to curate or create content. Every piece of content (article, video, podcast) is filled with hundreds of ideas you can turn into content. Curation without your own take on things is a waste of people's time. Adding your magic changes everything.

Several areas/sources for my content ideas: Questions my clients or prospects ask me - usually if one customer or prospect asks me something, there's a decent chance someone else is wondering the same thing. Boom. Content. Comments left on other people's social media post - I spend over an hour a day on LinkedIn, often engaging on other people's posts. Quite often, my comment/response to someone else's post could be it's OWN post. The photo library of my phone - you'd be surprised how many stories or lessons you'll be reminded of by looking at recent photos you took Notes from the week - I have a running checklist of things I learn or encounter during the week that can be taught during the next. Like finding something in a book.
